Kerra Trembath is a fictional Cornish painter imagined as growing up between Helford creeks, nursery glasshouses and the ravine gardens of the south coast. After years sketching at Trebah, Glendurgan, Tresco Abbey Garden and the Eden Project, she developed a practice centred on exotic planting as a coastal drama rather than a decorative subject. Her paintings treat palms, gunnera and tree ferns as architecture, with paths, shadows and sea-glimpses forming a repeated emotional geography of shelter, heat and revelation. Trembath's work belongs to an imagined contemporary Cornish tradition of garden painting: sensuous, saturated, and unmistakably rooted in place.
Kerra Trembath paints Cornwall as a green threshold: subtropical valleys, glossy leaves and salt-lit openings where the garden suddenly falls away to the sea.
